Anthony Williams is known for his versatility as a trombonist. He has forged a successful career as a performer by showcasing his unlimited stylistic range in a vast array of performances and professional recordings. He has shared the stage with artists and ensembles such as Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Peter Erskine, Rufus Reid, Mulgrew Miller, Jeff Coffin, Clark Terry, and David Sanchez. His playing can be heard on several recordings which include albums by The Dave Lisik Jazz Orchestra, The Michael Waldrop Big Band, The Ryan Middagh Group, and as a student with the University of Memphis “Southern Comfort” Jazz Ensemble, and multi-award winning University of Northern Iowa Jazz Band One playing lead trombone. Current projects by Williams include the commissioning of new jazz-influenced solo trombone works to be recording during the summer of 2018.
