John Psathas

Project: Omnifenix

John Psathas is one of New Zealand's most prolific and internationally-known composers and widely considered one of the three most important living composers of the Greek diaspora. 

Omnifenix was originally composed for orchestra and was premiered in 2000 by Orchestra Sinfoniza dell’Emille Romagna a Arturo Toscanini with Michael Brecker as soloist. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra recorded the piece with Joshua Redman as soloist in 2006.
